Whelping Day is a "Main Event"Well before whelping day, we make preparations for the new "family." We have an x-ray done between day 54 and day 57 so we know how many puppies to anticipate. Then after whelping, we usually have a follow-up x-ray to be sure there are no retained pups. We currently use the 38"x38" EZWhelp whelping box for our mommas. We use a baby monitor to keep tabs on momma several days prior to her due date and following delivery. This is the first time I (Kim) had a dear friend around (Suzanne) to assist with whelping - she was AWESOME! Enjoy Maggy's slide show and videos leading up to the arrival of her precious children . . . Stay tuned for weekly updates as Maggy (and Remington's) children grow up!
Motherhood looks good on Maggy on Day 60At Seven Oaks Farms, we love our mommies and babies. Maggy has always been a "queen bee" in our family... from sleeping in our bed to relaxing in our laps to curling up on our sofa, she is our first cream mommy and a very special part of our family. She already has two champions with more children to hit the show ring soon. This will likely be her last litter. We are excited about her forthcoming children! Sometimes it's just meant to be . . . "Chester" took a nor-easter all the way up to Jersey! After two "almost moves," Chester finally made his way via trusted ground transport to the New Jersey to join the McGovern family! Prior to his departure, Chester was already proving himself successful in the potty training and lead line training "departments!" We LOVE keeping up with our "kiddos" even though separated by the miles. We certainly will miss this extra friendly, extra smart, extra extroverted, EXTRA special boy! Thanks for sharing so many wonderful photos of Chester's first week in his new home! We especially enjoyed your comments (captioned in quotes)! AVAILABLE: Beautiful shaded red longhaired miniature dachshundSIRE: AKC Pointed Stoneriver Cream Ridge Remington @ Seven Oaks MLCC Dam: Stonerivers Sugar Cookie MLCC "Chester" is looking for his "Perfect Pet Companion" home! He is a beautiful shaded red longhaired miniature dachshund from long-standing, champion-bred lines (29 champions & 2 grand champions in his 5-generation pedigree). He has personality galore, loves people and is a great long-eared lap buddy!! Raised in our home, "Chester" is very much a part of the family and is familiar with typical house noises (vacuum cleaner, TV, music, etc). He is doing very well with potty training (going outside when weather permits and on his potty pad in the house when it is too cold or raining). He is accustomed to spending the day free in our home and night in his crate which further reinforces his potty training. Chester does very well meeting new people and gets along with other dogs. He is also accustomed to being groomed regularly (bath, blow-dry, nail grinding and pad trimming). He is also catching on very quickly learning how to fetch, stack and walk on lead!!! SERIOUS PET HOME INQUIRIES ONLY - Thank you! More photos on our PUPPIES PAGE . . . CONTACT US for price . . . Here's another look at "Chester" learning to fetch!!!
