ABOUT OUR GERMAN SHEPHERD DOGS
At Seven Oaks Farms, we understand the genetic component of very selective, intentional breeding to maintain and preserve the natural quality of working line German Shepherds. When puppies are produced with the innate qualities of a "sound mind and body, strong, functional, intelligent, trainable, courageous, and resilient," their response to proper training - even as early as seven weeks - is totally natural as they function in the capacity for which they were originally bred. Our breeding dogs have proven themselves highly adaptable to any environment and are bred to the highest standard in the world with the same qualifications practiced in the country of their origin - Germany. They earned their respective titles in Germany and are certified worthy of breeding and producing highly trainable offspring suitable for most anyone - whether for top-level competition, service, tracking, home or business protection or family companionship. Every ancestor in the pedigree of our breeding dogs has earned a title with most being Sch3,IPO3, etc.
A Little History:
Our love for the German Shepherd breed began in 2000 when we purchased our first German Shepherd Dog (GSD), Greta. At that time, we had very little knowledge of the breed and the difference between American-bred lines and German-bred working lines. Though our Greta was a wonderful dog, she was never content to be inside as a part of our family and lacked the desire to work.
In 2010, we were blessed to obtain Angel as an 18-month old, our first GSD from working lines. Sired by a KraftwerkK9 dog, Angel possessed a very different demeanor from our previous dogs and had the ability to be very focused, active and working outdoors, yet had a “shutoff button” the minute she came inside. Fast forward to 2022: Angel is now 13-years old, and we have added more working GSDs to our family.
Our New Dog Haven Project:
Our dogs are an integral part of our family and home. As we add to our family, we need more space, so we have begun construction to repurpose the downstairs of our Cypress Barn. It will provide our beloved dogs a spacious, safe, climate-controlled, home-style environment to whelp and raise puppies. Each suite will have spacious indoor and outdoor play and potty areas with access to an even larger enclosed common dog yard. The repurposed facility will also provide us a comfortable place to work with puppies and dogs during inclement weather. The upstairs apartment is now our second living/office area where the dogs "assist us" with our daily duties (LOL)!
Our Recent Prestigious Additions in 2022:
In January 2022, Seven Oaks welcomed the prestigious SG-Max vom Haus Cismar! Aura von der Keilhaue and Xara Venusina Sopka joined us in March, 2022. Max, Aura and Xara are German-imported working dogs titled in Germany with well-known working line pedigree combinations of top schutzhund performers known for optimum health and functionality. We are blessed to have a special relationship with their first American owner/handler, Wayne Curry, of KraftwerkK9 who entrusted us to become the new owners of Max, Aura and Xara. We also have a couple of up and coming "kids," Udo vom Kraftwerk and Vaska vom Kraftwerk.
We are quite honored to have Max, "Kraftwerk K9's #1 family/home protection dog," as our personal protection dog and foundation SIRE for our program! "Max is," according to Wayne, "one of the MOST ACCOMPLISHED working German Shepherds in America!" Many thanks to Wayne and Jamie for this special boy!

AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION SURVEY FINDINGS - Our PETS Relieve STRESS!
The American Heart Association released a survey that found 95% of pet parents rely on the pet for stress relief. Dr. Glenn Levine, Professor of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and Chief of Cardiology at the DeBakey VA Medical Center, was the lead author. "Lily" was purchased from us by Dr. Paul Klotman, President, Baylor College of Medicine, in October, 2019 just before COVID19 hit. She became what he described as Baylor’s “therapy dog.” She accompanies him to work every day and appears with him during his weekly BCM YouTube updates! Her “niece,” Lucy, lives in Durham, NC with her “mom,” Dr. Mary Klotman, Vice Chancellor and Dean of Duke University School of Medicine.
