7OaksK9 GERMAN SHEPHERD DOGS
About Us
Very Selective - Intentional - Preservation Breeders of Working Line German Shepherds
We are a small scale working line breeder located in northeast Mississippi. We and our dogs are blessed to live on over 500 acres where we have access to terrain from flat and open to rolling dense forest. There is a lake (seen in may of our photographs) along with several ponds and even wetlands. Our dogs are an integral part of our lives and can be found in both of our homes - the main house as well as our other home with them in their K9Haven.
QUALITY - not Quantity
We strive to produce these INNATE QUALITIES:
Sound in Mind & Body | Strong | Functional | Intelligent | Trainable | Courageous | Resilient | Vibrantly Healthy | Responsive
It doesn't get much better than this!

Our breeding dogs have proven themselves highly adaptable to most any environment and are bred to the highest standard in the world with the same qualifications practiced in the country of their origin - Germany. Every ancestor in the pedigrees of our breeding dogs have earned one or more working titles (SchH, IPO2, IGP) with many having show ratings of distinction of V and SG. Though their titles and papers are impressive, it it ultimately the naturally steady, reliable demeanor and ability of each individual dog that matters! All have met our high standard for health testing.
Because of their innate qualities, it is totally natural for our puppies to learn and perform multiple obedience commands even as early as seven weeks as they function in the capacity for which they were originally bred. Our goal is to maintain and preserve these natural innate qualities in combination with vibrant health and longevity. Their stunning beauty and conformation is just the "icing on the cake!" Puppies are usually available as early as 8 weeks and will have been exposed to household noises like the vacuum, TV, white noises like thunder, trains, traffic sounds, woods sounds, construction sounds - you name it! . When we choose to keep them longer, we work with them on basic obedience, crate training, door and jump control, plus interaction with other GSDs, miniature dachshunds and people in our home. Once they are fully vaccinated, we take them to friend's homes and pet-friendly areas.

Our 7OaksK9 Haven
Because we love being with our dogs throughout the day, we wanted to create a special "haven" for them utilizing the downstairs of one of our former horse barns which feels like a home. Our 7OaksK9 Haven project has been mostly a DIY job that has been underway since February 2022. We utilized our new 12'x12' Whelping/Maternity Suite for the first time in April 2023, which has a 6'x6' whelping area with a 6''x6" additional transitional puppy room equipped with a BiteGuard K9 door that provides access to their outdoor play yard. Rather than expecting our dam to stay in with her puppies 24/7, she has a nice option to move just outside their area to have a break. A futon/couch is located just outside the whelping enclosure, so we can be with them, during whelping, puppy care, etc. The upstairs apartment is now our second living/office area where our dogs "assist us" with our daily duties (LOL)! And of course, we have an entourage of dogs and pups inside our home - they are FAMILY!

A Little More Background:
Our love and passion for the German Shepherd breed began in 2000 when we purchased our first German Shepherd Dog (GSD), Greta. At that time, we had very little knowledge of the breed and the difference between American-bred (quite frankly, backyard-bred) lines, American-bred show lines and German-bred working lines. Though our American-bred (backyard-bred) Greta was a wonderful farm dog, she was never content to be inside as a part of our family and lacked the desire to work and really connect on a personal level.
In 2010, we were blessed to obtain our first GSD from elite working lines. Sired by a KraftwerkK9 dog, our jet black Angel possessed a very different demeanor from our previous GSDs and had the ability to be very focused, active and working outdoors, yet had a “shutoff button” the minute she came inside. Her grand-sire served as a Czech Border Patrol dog. Our love and passion for these incredible working companions has grown ever since!
We are excited you have found us and hope you find our website helpful and informative. It is an ongoing work-in-progress, so keep watching for more updates!
