DACHSHUNDS
Puppy Purchase Info
If you have landed on this page, then you must be seriously considering a puppy!
The puppies we do not keep to show are placed in approved, loving, responsible pet companion homes that provide us assurance they have the knowledge and financial means to care for these special puppies. Pet companions are sold under spay/neuter agreements. This does not necessarily mean they lack qualities suitable to show in conformation.
Our breeding program for dachshunds is based upon honesty and integrity. We treat you like we desire to be treated! Since we raise only a few litters per year (one or two), we recommend securing a spot on our Waiting List. Our pet companion puppies typically range in price from $2,000 - $3,000 based upon their individual evaluation as compared to the DCA/AKC standard.
We are serious about matching puppies with the right families! We will NOT sell to breeders who do not show and embrace our high standards and philosophy for producing the next generation of quality Dachshunds.
Making the purchase is the "easy part." Getting acquainted with and training your new companion takes time & commitment, so PLEASE consider your purchase wisely and carefully as many dachshunds live as long as 12-18 years..
Please do not ask us to lower our price - We prefer to keep it SIMPLE.

How to purchase a Seven Oaks puppy:
Since we raise only a few litters per year (one or two), we recommend securing a spot on our Waiting List. We price our puppies based upon their evaluation as compared to the DCA/AKC standard as well as their lineage, not based upon a particular sex, color, or pattern, although creams are usually higher than reds. Our pet companion puppies with champion lineage typically range in price from $2,000 - $3,000 based upon their individual evaluation. We evaluate our puppies every four weeks beginning at eight weeks. As soon as we determine we have a puppy available, we contact the first person on our waiting list whose specifications that puppy meets. Some puppies may be available after the 8-week evaluation, some may be available as late as the 16-week evaluation, and some even longer. Puppies are typically ready to join their new family between 10-12 weeks. If you fly to pick up a puppy, we recommend doing so before their 12th week. Once they turn 3 months old, Mississippi Law requires rabies vaccination. You may download a printable PDF of the Summary of Mississippi Animal Rabies Laws.
We NEVER accept a deposit for our waiting list without first providing photos, the purchase agreement and health guarantee for your review! We do our best not to place more prospective owners on the Waiting List than we anticipate puppies for in the near future. Often we wait until the litter arrives so we do not overbook.

Here is an example of how our puppy waiting list works:
Let's say we have a litter of FIVE puppies (2 shaded English cream girls, 1 clear ee red girl, and 2 shaded red boys) and at eight weeks, we determine to place one shaded red boy and have six people on our waiting list with their puppy desires specified as follows (listed in the order received followed by the results from the litter placed in this example):
In this scenario, #4 will be contacted first. If this person declines or does not respond within a reasonable time, we will contact #5 next. If both decline, we will contact the remaining people in the order they joined our list to offer that puppy. Assuming that shaded red boy is placed with #4, we now have four puppies to evaluate again at 12 weeks or possibly sooner. Let's say after the 12-week evaluation, we determine to place one shaded cream girl and the other shaded red boy. We contact #1 and #5 regarding the shaded cream girl and shaded red boy respectively and they accept. Now we have one shaded cream girl and one ee red girl (no shading) remaining. Let's say after the 16-week evaluation, we decide to place the shaded cream girl and keep the ee red girl. We do not have an individual remaining who specified shaded cream girl; therefore, we contact the first person remaining on the list or #2, and they decide to accept a shaded cream girl instead of their original preference of a shaded cream boy. At this point, #3 and #6 will have first and second dibs respectively on the next litter. They may also change their preferences, if so desired, to increase chances of obtaining a puppy. We do our best to keep our list as short as possible and will NOT accept more deposits than puppies we anticipate in a given year.
- Shaded cream or clear ee cream girl - accepts the 1st shaded cream girl available after 12-week evaluation to be transferred immediately
- Shaded cream male - changes preference and accepts the 2nd shaded cream girl available after 16-week evaluation to be transferred immediately
- Red girl (shaded or ee) - becomes first in line for the next litter and may update preference(s)
- Red girl or boy (shaded or ee) - accepts the 1st shaded red boy available after 8-week evaluation to be transferred no earlier than 10 weeks
- Shaded red boy - accepts the 2nd shaded red boy available after 12-week evaluation to be transferred immediately
- Clear ee cream girl (no shading) - becomes second in line for the next litter and may update preference(s)
