After a puppy learns its name and to "come/HERE", we begin with the basic "sit/SITZ" (rhymes with fits) command. The puppy expected to remain in a SITZ until another command is given or they are released. After the SITZ, we teach "down/PLATZ" (rhymes with shots) where they are expected to stay until another command is given or they are released. After the PLATZ, we teach them to "heel/FUSS" (rhymes with goose) where they are to walk at their handler's left side as he/she walks and sit when he/she stops walking. After learning these THREE major commands, we put it all together, usually in a totally different location from where they learned each of the other commands. We just LOVE how receptive Max puppies are to training! Adia is no exception as she naturally wants to connect with her handler and already has incredible eye contact and attentiveness - despite distractions. She has displayed incredible alertness and attentiveness since she was a wee pup! She will be an incredible addition to some family!
