"Gretel" is looking for her "Perfect Pet Companion" home! She is a spunky, lovely shaded red longhaired miniature dachshund (whelped 6/6/2019) from long-standing, champion-bred lines. Her sire is a champion producer, and dam is a 2x champion producer. Both of them are on site. Raised in our home, "Gretel" is very much a part of the family and is familiar with typical house noises (vacuum cleaner, TV, music, etc). Held back as a potential show prospect, she is fully crate trained. Gretel is content to hang-out in her crate unattended for several hours if necessary for errands and is accustomed to sleeping in her crate overnight with no accidents. Gretel is a "show boat" and loves to play with her toys and family. She is accustomed to hanging out most of the time in our home or a lap (with or without other dogs around). She is a "pig" and enjoys her share of greenies when it is time to "crate-up." She has a kind-hearted, protective temperament and will announce the arrival of an unfamiliar guest. She does very well being groomed regularly (bath, blow dry, nail grinding and pad trimming).
