Maggy's Whelping Days: June 5-6, 2019

Whelping Day is a "Main Event"

Well before whelping day, we make preparations for the new "family." We have an x-ray done between day 54 and day 57 so we know how many puppies to anticipate. Then after whelping, we usually have a follow-up x-ray to be sure there are no retained pups. We currently use the 38"x38" EZWhelp whelping box for our mommas. We use a baby monitor to keep tabs on momma several days prior to her due date and following delivery. This is the first time I (Kim) had a dear friend around (Suzanne) to assist with whelping - she was AWESOME!
